Uneven Bars
Built on a series of progressive techniques, on uneven bars you use your core and upper body strength to lift and swing your entire body from bar to bar.
Beam
The ultimate test of agility, balance and form to move from one edge of the beam to the other showing off various skills along the way.
Floor
One of the most exciting events to watch at competitions are the floor routines. They are the perfect mixture of power, strength and dancing ability. Learn how to perform handsprings, aerials and various tumbling combinations.
Competitive Programs
Developmental Program
The QCK's Developmental Program is focused on developing advanced skills and a high level of physical readiness. The athletes are tested on skills, strength, flexibility, and routines three times each year. There are also multiple levels to the Star Program that athletes can progress through.
Star athletes advance to the high level Provincial, Pre-National and National programs.
Star athletes cannot switch programs after the first testing of the season. Athletes will be assessed by the coaches for compatibility and may be moved during summer training.
Junior Olympic Programs
This program is based on 10 levels, and is divided into three major segments. Levels 1 to 3 are for athletes learning and developing the basics as an introduction to competitive gymnastics; Levels 4 and 5 are more difficult and progressive in nature and build upon the skills in the previous level. It is excellent preparation for athletes preparing to go into the Pre-Competitive Programs; Levels 6 to 9 focus on advanced skills and elite level competitive programs using the optional events and routines; and Level 10 is the equivalent to National Novice and National Open Categories.
