What is Acro Gymnastics?
Acro is a gymnastics discipline that involves tops and bases working together in pairs or trios to do acrobatic elements such as holds, throws and catches with choreography and tumbling to floor routines.
What kind of routines do they compete?
The partnerships compete up to 3 different types of routines and also have the opportunity to compete in an optional category called Master of the Canes which is a hand balancing competition. They compete a balance routine which consists of static elements, pyramids, and lifts. They also compete a dynamic routine which involves throws, catches and tumbling. Competitive Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG)
Women's Artistic Gymnastics is a challenging, yet very rewarding sport. It requires mastery on 4 apparatus: Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise
Athletes train to have great strength, flexibility, and technical abilities on the 4 apparatus. They develop terrific body awareness, coordination, and toughness through specific technique and execution of the skills.
Vault: This event requires power. The gymnast sprints towards a stationary apparatus and tumbles over top of it. The gymnast performs flips and twists throughout the air until their landing.
Uneven Bars: This event requires swinging and coordination. It is considered one of the more challenging events for athletes. There are 2 bars set at different heights. The gymnast performs a series of elements on each bar. Some of the more advanced skills can involve releasing and catching the bar.
Balance Beam: This event requires an unbelievable amount of balance and coordination. The Balance Beam is only 4 inches wide. Gymnasts perform dance, acrobatic series, leaps and turns all while trying not to fall off.
Floor Exercise: This event requires power, dance, and elegance. Competing on the floor exercise is done to up to 1.5 minute long music where athletes will learn choreography that will help create an amazing display of tumbling and artistry.

Competitive Mens Gymnastics (MAG)
Men's Artistic Gymnastics challenges athletes physically and mentally. Athletes will work to attain a very strong physical development in which they are able to perform skills which may seem near impossible to many. There are 6 events that the athletes would compete on: Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, Horizontal Bar
Floor Exercise: This event is tumbling in power based. Gymnasts will have up to 70 seconds to perform many tumbling passes while still trying to maintain control and artistry.
Pommel Horse: Regarded as one of the tougher events. It requires great dynamic support on the hands while the gymnasts perform different elements and skills. The hardest part is trying not to fall.
Rings: You must be strong to perform rings well. Gymnasts work on developing their upper body strength in hopes of being able to hold their body above and below the rings with stability. It is the event that athletes perform the well known skill "Iron Cross"
Vault: This event requires power. The gymnast sprints towards a stationary apparatus and tumbles over top of it. The gymnast performs flips and twists throughout the air until their landing.
Parallel Bars: This event requires swinging above and below the bar. It is one of the most versatile events as there are many options of skills to perform on the 2 parallel running wooden bars.
Horizontal Bar: Another name for this event is "High Bar". It is a metal bar that athletes swing on and perform amazing elements. As the athletes progress, they can begin doing skills where they release and catch the bar.
