Affording Gymnastics
Gymnastics can be a hard sport to afford so QCG has put together a few different financial aid options that might help families out.
The KidSport Program
KidSport provides grants to children and youth (up to 18 years of age) facing financial obstacles so that they can participate in registered sports programs led by qualified instructors. KidSport supports social and economic barriers facing the child’s family when determining eligibility, such as families that are on low income, unemployed, or currently receiving income support through provincial government. For more information, please visit: www.kidsportcanada.ca
** Prior to a Recreational session starting, we suggest all applicants apply at least 30 days in advance in order for Kidsport to have to process application and forward funds to the gym.
We post our sessions well in advance in order to choose a class and find out class information/costs. If you are planning on going through kidsport, we recommend to apply as early as possible to ensure a smooth registration process before classes start.
Kidsport meets the 20th of each month to review applications and approve them. Once they approve, they forward the gym the cheque.
We can go ahead and register your child in person or over the phone (306-757-5311) once we receive from you either: a) an approval letter from Kidsport b) we receive the cheque from them. It is the parent's responsibility to follow up with Kidsport and then to register their child. Kidsport will not register them on your behalf.**
Canadian Tire Jumpstart
Jumpstart is a registered charity that delivers support to children and youth, from financially disadvantaged families, in order to allow them to participate in organized sports and physical activity. OGAR (Optimist Gymnastics Association of Regina) Assistance Fund
The primary goal of OGAR is to promote the advancement of gymnastics in Regina. This fund provides many opportunities for funding to recreational and competitive gymnasts already in QCG’s programs. It supplements fees, development, and travel for gymnasts, as well as financial assistance for less fortunate children and groups.
