CanGym Classes
The recreational programs at QCG are centered around the CanGym program. CanGym is an age and skill dependent series of classes from beginner to advanced. The classes focus on fundamental movement patterns including landings, locomotion's, stationary positions, rotations, springs and swings. These are natural progressions into our competitive programs and Women's and Men's Artistic Gymnastics. The CanGym program also includes apparatus-based skills including vault, pommel horse, uneven bars, floor, rings, and beams. QCG has separated the CanGym levels into six age and skill based classes.
CanGym Beginner - Burgundy/Red (5+ Years and 8+ Years)
In CanGym Beginner, students will learn some basic gymnastics techniques and movements including jumping, basic supports and rolls, cartwheels, and various positions on the bars and beam like hangs, tucks, pikes, and straddles.

They work on more complicated floor skills in combination and are now expected to be able to perform simple supports and holds on the apparatus'. Many gymnasts at this stage may also choose to be tested to go into QCG's competitive programs.
